Yoga is an ancient practice designed to strengthen and detoxify the body in preparation for meditation.

The Hatha practice is the physical aspect of Yoga. It is a series of poses done with rest in between. As well as toning and stretching muscles, it also considers the health and function of the internal organs. Pranayama is also part of the practice using specific breathing techniques to further aid in detoxifying the body and calming and clearing the mind.

The practice is done in quiet with the primary focus on quieting the mind and bringing the awareness to the body and breath in the moment.

“The goal of yoga is to have an easeful body, a peaceful mind, and a useful life.”

- Swami Satchidanana
